Feedback from crit and mid evaluation.

The question i took the crit were as follows.

Do you think i should keep with the claret colour for the mart theatre or change it drastically to add to the design?

What do you think about the warp brief idea? Do you understand it and how it will work?

Do the you the other ideas could be brought in to add to the warp brief?

Do you think the typographic logo could be combined with the symbol type logo for the sarah walton brief?

Have you got any ideas of pushing the sarah walton brief past what is needed?

The feedback i got was generally good people understood the QR code idea for warp records but felt it could be developed further. I shall develop the idea further to see if anything pops up but i do feel that the minimalist simple approach really suit warp aesthetically.

The Mart brief got a good response saying it suited the intended audience and that the colour used suited the theme of theatre.

Feedback given for the sarah walton brief was mixed some said i should go the exact opposite of her work and some said i need to represent her work more through identity. My thoughts are that i think the identity should be personal youthful fun bright and loud (at times) which is Sarah. Another idea that was given was to incorporate embroidery more for example creating a full embroided website.

Interim Evaluation.

So far i feel i have been focusing on ideas coming up with concepts and ideas that can be spread across a range or have depth. I feel this has benefited my work, however i do feel i am slacking in term of making and producing products.( maybe due to fact i have no money to do so)

I also feel i am slightly falling behind in terms of documenting my own work and ideas which i will address from here on.

Also i need to start my other two briefs or make note of my thought s and ideas on them and document these.

So my action plan from here is-

Finish briefs i have started to a point i am happy with and a point where i can knock up boards. these will included the production of products and documentation ie. photography to put in my portfolio.

The last thing i would like to address is my context brief i have fall way behind on this but i have cleared up my ideas of what i want to do.

I want to look specify at identity and branding and looks at how different designers/studios/agency go about creating a brand ask them what they see as the difference between a brand and a identity.

So far i have contact a number of studio who specilaize within branding and identity's or even have a strong identity of the own or even bigger they are seen as a brand.

Company i have contact are.

The Designer's republic - I have contact ian anderson the founder/owner and have arranged a studio visit to see how they go about branding clients and themselves.

Small Back Room - a dramaticly different company who do a similar job but there clients are far more corporate and a number of them are under the line rather than out there in the public sector.

I intend to contact other companies who our all of a different vain but still do work in the area of design some of them are:

Elmwood
Gratterpalm
The Consult
B&W
LionHouse Creative
Red design

I just want to get in the head of lots of designer's/studio and what there approach to branding is and how it differs from each other.
